‘Thugs of Hindostan’ First Look: Amitabh Bachchan as Khudabaksh

Amitabh Bachchan’s look and character name from Thugs of Hindostan was unveiled by Aamir Khan today. The film will hit the screens on November 8.

Thugs of Hindostan makers unveiled the first look of Amitabh Bachchan from the film on Tuesday.

The motion poster of Amitabh’s larger than life avatar was shared by actor Aamir Khan on his Twitter handle and read, “The biggest thug of all !!! Love, a.”

The 25-seconds-long clip is a motion poster of sorts in which we see Bachchan onboard an old-timey ship. The stormy weather in the clip closely resembles the rough side of the open waters we all became familiar with in Disney’ Pirates of the Caribbean.

The official description of his character reads, “Wading through storms & battles, the commander of Thugs has arrived. Amitabh Bachchan as #Khudabaksh.” In the poster, Khudabaksh aka Amitabh is seen as a commander of a massive ship as he gets ready for war. A dramatic background score sets the mood of the teaser right. According to the makers, The Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial is the first Bollywood film to have the sea as the backdrop of the narrative.

Based on Philip Meadows Taylor’s 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug, this movie tells the story of a pirate gang who posed a serious challenge to the British Empire in India during the early 19th century.

It also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. Scheduled for Diwali release, the film will hit the theaters on November 8.
